The Mughal Road's crown
Peer Ki Gali is the 3,485 m summit of the historic Mughal Road — the pass where emperors' caravans crossed the Pir Panjal between Shopian and Poonch. A lone shrine stands in the saddle, marmots whistle from the slopes, and on a clear day the meadows roll away on both sides of the range.
